Did you know that a client always has the right to switch lawyers? That’s right, an attorney can be replaced at any point of a litigation. Switching attorneys may not always be the best thing for your case, but there are certain situations where it should be considered. Here are a few:
- When your lawyer fails to communicate responsively.
- When you are unable to pay your lawyer’s fees.
- When you cannot agree upon a strategy or budget for the case.
- When you lose confidence in your lawyer’s advice.
If any of these apply to your relationship with your attorney, it’s time to have a conversation. It the relationship cannot be repaired, then it may be time for a change in counsel.
