Appellate Advocacy

by | Nov 20, 2021 | Firm News |

This week I had an appellate argument in the Pennsylvania Superior Court. It was only the Court’s second day of live arguments in Philadelphia since the pandemic began. The three judge panel was visibly happy to hear the arguments live after 18 months on Zoom.

The argument involved an appeal from a bench trial in a business dispute in Bucks County. There is a special satisfaction in arguing on appeal a case that you have handled since inception. These cases very rarely proceed to the Supreme Court, so the Superior Court’s decision will likely be the end of a long and winding road for these litigants. A life cycle event of sorts.

At the end of the day, the decision will determine who gets money from whom, and how much. Regardless, the parties will go on with their lives and businesses. And I will go on representing other businesses and business people.

Time to find another case to handle.
